What Others Say

“Before I began the Mentoring Matters program, I had an idea of where to begin but no real direction. Vickie helped turn me in the direction of business growth and success. One of the things we worked on that has really helped was shifting from the “employee” mindset to the “business owner” mindset; that is a challenge.  Vickie’s listening style and mentoring approach assisted me in realizing my self talk and response to that talk. I realized that I was thinking and speaking as an “employee” not as “business owner” and have since adjusted my self talk and thinking.

I realize that my business self must be aware at all times. Vickie’s mentoring has moved me from being the quiet and observant VA to the business owner who uses all opportunities to reach out to potential clients.  I have built and continue to build a pipeline of potential clients who I follow up with on a regular basis.

I believe one thing that surprised me the most about mentoring was that I thought I was more prepared to open my doors for business and how many things I didn’t think about! Vickie’s mentoring has caused me to look outside of myself, inside of myself, and towards my future as the business owner of JWeaver Virtual Office Solutions…a multi-VA, full service virtual assistant business!”

“I feel that one of Vickie’s assets is that she is a great listener. She hears what is being said and offers many suggestions and insights to resolutions. Before I started mentoring with Vickie, a major challenge I was having was a lack of self-confidence and organization. Since our mentoring, there have been many changes and results, one of which is understanding that I need to take time to reflect on what I have accomplished when I finish a client project. Instead of always trying to figure out what I could have done better, I now spend more time looking for the positive.

What really surprised me about mentoring was how wonderful it was to have someone to ask questions to and know that they knew what they were talking about. I know that Vickie has experienced both sides of the fence (before success and after success) and can relate to the struggles I was having. It was a pleasure to work with Vickie.

“Vickie has been a great inspiration to me and my business. She began as a mentor for me in the VA Blueprint showing me amazing professionalism. She was always available throughout our coaching and beyond the weekly meetings. She offered us real world examples either something that helped her in her business or something she learned on the way. She continues to share her knowledge of not only how to succeed as a Virtual Assistant, but how to grow your business, love what you do and aspire me to be better in my business. I would recommend her highly.”

What struck me most about Vickie Turley’s mentoring was her ability to make any task seem so simple, thanks to her clear thinking and common sense. As a new VA, I was overwhelmed by systems to learn and decisions to make. But no matter how frazzled I was when a mentoring session with Vickie began, I came away feeling, “This is not so hard! I can do this!” She is easy to talk to, supportive, and encouraging. If you’re considering working with a VA mentor, I highly recommend Vickie.

While in the VA Blueprint I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Vickie Turley. I had two clients going in to the VA Blueprint and by the time the class was completed and we graduated, I had four! I must commend Vickie for at least a part of my success. Throughout the class, I found Vickie to be extremely helpful. She was always there for me, no matter how big or how small the question or crisis I had.

One instance I asked Vickie for some advice on raising my rates. I was so worried about breaking this news to my clients and I had no idea how to even start to tell them. Vickie came back to me with a perfect answer, that made sense, which gave me the confidence to speak with my clients about my rate increase. When I spoke with my clients using what Vickie had advised, none of them had any problem with my rate increase whatsoever, and I was comfortable in knowing that I could speak with them confidently about my rate increase.

Vickie is a perfect example of a small business entrepreneur – she is extremely knowledgeable, motivating, organized, she has got it all together! Vickie is such a “real” person to work with. She is wonderfully uplifting, friendly thoughtful, and understanding.

What more could you ask for in a VA Mentor?! I would absolutely recommend that any new VA or anyone who wants to “refresh” their VA practice work with Vickie!

It was a real pleasure working with Vickie as my VA mentor through The VA Blueprint Kickstart Program. When she first let me know about the program back in 2007, I was one of the first to sign up simply because I already knew what kind of value I would get knowing that she would be an integral part of the program, providing me with great mentoring tips for my business. What Vickie helped me with in the mentoring program was the information she offered me in how I can better plan my day with a time management schedule that I still use to this day. She also provided me with great networking tips that I implemented right away and gained a number of clients simply by joining groups that pertained to my niche market. I highly recommend any new, or even a veteran VA, take advantage of what Vickie has to offer in her mentoring program. It is well worth the investment you put into it!
